For those tournaments that require the completion of a certain number of games, each player must complete their scheduled games and try their best to win as many games as they can. The integrity of the tournament depends on this. Except for early exits approved by the Tournament Director (illness or family emergency) and except for games that don’t need to be played because both players are out of contention, failure to comply will result in sanctions as follows:
1st offense: A one year suspension from STPC tournaments. The suspended person may petition the STPC Council for reinstatement after six months.
2nd offense: A two year suspension from STPC tournaments. The suspended person may petition the STPC Council for reinstatement after one year.
3rd offense: A lifetime suspension from STPC tournaments.
The Tournament Director has sole authority to grant approval for early exit. The STPC Council has sole authority to levy the above sanctions after considering all relevant circumstances. The STPC Council has sole authority to shorten the suspension based upon the merits of the suspended person’s petition.
