World Series Recap:

Game 1 – Stripling vs Urias

Jerry jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 1^st inning on an Arozarena solo HR. In the 4^th inning Harry bats around for 4 runs, Bohm (HR to 11) started it off, error by Urias, bases loaded BB by Bogaerts and D’Arnaud, followed by a rare play x on the catcher scored another. RBI 1B by McNeil finished off the scoring in the 9^th.

Game 2 – Darvish vs L. Castillo

This time Harry jumps out to a 1-0 lead in the 1^st, Giminez 2B and brought in on an x chance 1B** off France. Jerry ties it in the 4^th on a Bogaerts RBI 1B**. Harry retakes the lead in the 5^th when McNeil drives in McGuire. Jerry once again ties it up with a Harris solo HR in the 7^th.An RBI2B by Nimmo after a Turner 3B error gives Harry a 3-2 lead heading into the 9^th, where Harry puts it away with a Grand Slam by Rizzo to lead the series 2-0 heading to Harry’s park.

Game 3 – Kelly vs S. Gray

The thought of going up 3-0 in the series was quickly squashed in the 4^th and 5^th innings by Jerry. In the 4^th Turner hits a 2 run bomb, and in the 5^th Turner again drives in 2 with a 2B followed by France 2B. 6-0 Jerry, Harry gets 1 in the 5^th, but then Jerry tacks on runs in the 7^th and 8^th to win 8-1. 2-1 series lead for Harry

Game 4 – Strider vs L. Castillo

Strider is not dominant, as Harry strands 10 runners against him, but can’t push any runs across in a 5-0 win for Jerry. Lux (2 run HR) and RBI’s by Vazquez and Bogaerts pace the offense for Jerry.

Game 5 – Urias vs Stripling

Back to the 1^st game matchup, and a Sac Fly by Giminez gives Harry a 1-0 lead. Jerry ties it in the 4^th on a 1-3 HR by Tucker. Harry regains the lead bottom 4 on another Sac Fly, this one by Bogaerts. Bottom of the 5^th, Bohm drives in 2 on a 1 out 2B to increase the lead to 4-1, which would be the final score and a 3-2 series lead for Harry.

Game 6 – Darvish vs L. Castillo

Looking to put the series away, Nimo crushes a 3 run bomb in the top of the 1^st to give harry a 3-0 lead…Arozarena leads ff bottom 1 with a solo shot, and follows that up with a 2 run shot in the 2^nd to ties it all up at 3 after 2. No scoring until the 5^th, when Cronenworth gets the x catcher 1B and Arozarena 2B him in for his 4^th RBI of the game. Bogaerts 1B him in and Jerry is up 5-3. Jerry tacks 1 on in the 6^th and Harry can muster no offense as Castillo mows down the team giving up only 1 BB and 1 hit after the 1^st inning. On to game 7!

Game 7 – S. Gray vs Kelly

Rematch of game 3 that saw Keppy go the distance and Gray get bombed….a different story this time around. A super cheese game for Harry all around. Starts off with a Turner error for Jerry and Harry’s Turner 2B him in. Stays 1-0 Harry until the 5^th, when Bregman is HBP, and after Margot K’s, Nimmo hits a diamond shot to 2 for a 3-0 lead. Top 6 McGuire 1B is followed by a 2 base error on Cronenworth. Giminez lays down the safety squeeze for 1 run, and Bregman follows that with a Sac Fly, and that’s the final nail in the coffin. Bautista and Helsley shut down Jerry over the last 4 innings and Harry takes the series 4-3.
